Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

Order and Shipping

How long does it take for my order to ship?

The delivery time of your order depends on the respective products.

For most items, the delivery time is usually 2 to 7 business days. For pre-order products, batch products, or items that are made to order, delivery may take longer.

The exact delivery time can usually be found directly on the respective product page. For pre-order and batch products, the stated delivery time usually only begins after the pre-order phase has ended and production has been completed.

Should there be any unplanned delays with your order, we will inform you as soon as possible.

Can I change my order after it's been placed?

As long as your order has not yet been processed, we can check for changes. To do so, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number at info@trunkhogs.com

Why is my order split into multiple deliveries?

We always try to dispatch your orders as quickly as possible.

Since an order can contain different product types with different delivery times, we may split the shipment. This means you don't have to wait for items that are already available just because another product from the same order has a longer delivery time.

In such cases, we will ship your order in several partial deliveries. As a rule, you will not incur any additional shipping costs.

If a partial delivery is necessary or advisable, we will inform you accordingly if possible.

How are shipping costs calculated?

Shipping costs are based on current DHL shipping rates and will be displayed at checkout before you complete your order.

For deliveries within Germany, we charge a flat shipping rate. For orders above a certain value, delivery within Germany may be free of charge, if indicated accordingly in the shop.

International shipping is currently paused. Orders with delivery addresses outside Germany cannot currently be accepted or processed.

Do you also ship internationally?

We currently only ship regularly within Germany.

Deliveries to Austria, Switzerland, other EU member states, and other countries outside Germany are currently paused.

In individual cases, inquiries from other European countries can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Whether a delivery is possible depends, among other things, on the respective legal, tax, customs, and packaging requirements of the destination country.

Orders with a delivery address outside Germany therefore cannot currently be automatically accepted or processed.

Products and Availability

Where are your products manufactured?

This varies depending on the product type.

Products from our equipment category, as well as patches and similar items, are largely manufactured in Germany and partly in neighboring European countries.

Our apparel products such as T-shirts, hoodies, or caps originate from various manufacturing countries depending on the item, and are then finished in Germany by regional partner companies.

A small part of our assortment is produced on demand by external service providers. We develop digital products ourselves or in collaboration with external experts.

You can find more detailed information, if relevant, directly on the respective product page.

Why is Product X out of stock?

We are a small business and try to find a sensible compromise between availability, quality and economic viability.

Therefore, we divide our products into different categories: stock products, batch products and pre-order products. This model helps us to plan production better, to further improve quality and, at the same time, to work in an economically sensible way.

Please always check the respective product page to see which type of product it is and what delivery time is indicated.

For sold-out products, it's worth adding yourself to the watchlist. This way, you will be informed about new availability and, at the same time, you will help us to better assess demand and to sensibly prioritize future production runs.

I have a product idea, could you implement it?

Yes, we are always open to suggestions, ideas, and special projects.

As we are a small company and are already developing several products in parallel, we unfortunately cannot implement every idea immediately or guarantee its implementation. Nevertheless, we welcome input from the community and are happy to check whether a suggestion fits with us and whether the necessary capacities are available.

Simply send us your idea with as much specific information as possible. We will then get back to you and together we can see if and how the project can be realized.

Are your products Mil-Spec?

For our equipment products, we focus on robust materials, clean workmanship and, where relevant, compliance with common military requirements or specifications.

Many of our equipment items are made from proven materials and are designed for practical use, durability and functionality. If a product is deliberately not manufactured according to such specifications or is intended for a different purpose, we will indicate this in the product description.

Our clothing and lifestyle items are to be distinguished from these: these are primarily intended for everyday use, leisure and community.

How do I find the right size?

For T-shirts, hoodies, and caps, we provide a size chart. For other products, if relevant, you will find a note in the respective product description or a reference to our size guide.

It's best to compare the information in the size guide with a garment you already own and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure it, then compare the measurements with our charts.

This usually gives you the most reliable assessment of which size is right for you.

What do DTG, DTF, and screen printing actually mean?

These terms refer to the technique used to print on a garment.

DTG - Direct to Garment:

With DTG, the ink is printed directly onto the garment, similar to an inkjet printer. The advantages are relatively free design options, high print resolution, a soft feel, and it's economically viable even for small quantities. The disadvantages of DTG are a relatively high sensitivity to tumble dryers and hot washing, and it only works on specially prepared cotton textiles.

DTF - Direct to Film

With DTF, the design is first printed onto a special film, then coated with adhesive powder, and finally heat-pressed onto the textile. The advantages of DTF are very vibrant colors, it works on all types of textiles, high durability, and it's economical even for small print runs. The disadvantages of DTF are reduced breathability for very large designs, it can feel somewhat "film-like," and quality is highly dependent on the film, powder, and pressing used.

Screen Printing

Screen printing is a classic printing method for textiles, such as shirts and hoodies. Each color of the design is pressed onto the textile through a fine-mesh screen with a squeegee. A separate screen is usually required for each color. The advantages of screen printing are very high durability and wash resistance, vibrant and opaque colors, a high-quality and professional look, and a comfortable feel. The disadvantages of screen printing are that complex designs with color gradients, etc., are not easily possible, it's very expensive for small quantities, and the design cannot be easily adjusted (screens must be recreated)

The print on shirt X/Y is washing out, why?

The correct care depends, among other things, on the respective printing process. Screen printing and high-quality transfer printing are generally more durable, while DTG printing can be more sensitive to heat, friction, and incorrect care.

Many of our earlier shirts, in particular, were printed using the DTG method and should therefore be treated with particular care.

We generally recommend:

  • wash inside out
  • wash at a maximum of 30 °C
  • use a low spin speed
  • use mild detergent
  • do not bleach
  • do not tumble dry
  • do not iron printed areas directly

If you follow these instructions, the print will last significantly longer and will hardly fade even after a long time.

You can find more details in our care instructions.
